Sad news, good news, update

Carol Bell, one of the founding members of Mujeres, passed away on June 6. She served on our board for 4 years and resigned when she was diagnosed with ALS in 2010. Carol and I were close friends who had traveled together many times in the past 18 years. She had visited Chiapas with me on 5 separate occasions and loved the region and working with the women and girls of the cooperative.  Even after she was no longer able to serve on the board, she was a staunch supporter right up to her death. She will be greatly missed.
